Roberto Carrasco, 73, of Prosser, passed away on January 4, 2021 at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland.
He was born on November 20, 1947 in Santas Marias, Michoacán, Mexico to Jesus and Esperanza Marquez Carrasco. He came to the United States on his own at the age of fourteen and after a short time in California lived in the Yakima Valley the rest of his life including thirty-four years in Prosser. Roberto married Frances Lamardo on September 13, 1978. He worked for St. Michelle Winery from 1982-2006, when he retired.
He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of the United Farmworkers Labor Union. He enjoyed walking.
He is survived by six nieces, Veronica Orozco of Sunnyside, Rosalinda Carrasco of Toppenish, Tiodora Carrasco of Everett, WA, Ramona Carrasco of Kennewick, Guadalupe Carrasco of Pasco and Maria DeJesus Vega Carrasco of California; one nephew, Jose Vega Carrasco of Sunnyside; brother, Isidro Carrasco of California as well as three brothers and three sisters in Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Prosser Funeral Home at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 12th.The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
