It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilda (Paino) Cincotta who died January 10, 2021 at the age of 91. She has gone to join our dad, the love of her life, Francis “Frank” Cincotta to whom she was married for 62 years prior to his death in 2015.
Raised in Dorchester in St. Margaret's Parish, Gilda grew up in a large, fun-loving and close-knit Italian family. She then spent most of her years in Wellesley where she raised her children for 48 years and made many life-long friends. The remainder of her years were spent creating warm memories in Scituate and Norfolk, MA.
The deep love shared between Gilda and her family was evident to all. Her cherished grandchildren will always have fond memories of their Nana including sleepovers, chocolate chip pancakes, snowmen, candy and her endless encouragement and joy in all that they did. She taught them about unconditional love and shared with them her astounding creativity. Second to spending time with family, she also took pleasure in gardening, music, dancing, the ocean and food. Anyone who showed up at her house would be hard pressed to leave without having eaten something. Gilda was known for her genuine kindness to all whom she encountered.
She leaves behind her well loved children: Joseph Cincotta and his wife Barbara, Jannette Steed and her husband Robert, Elisa Ryan and her husband James; her adoring grandchildren: Jason Cincotta and his wife Katherine, Briana Cincotta and her husband Patrick Nguyen, Rachel Cincotta, Alaina Steed, Tyler Steed, Natalie Steed, Hailey Ryan, Aidan Ryan, Addison Ryan and great-granddaughters Josephine Cincotta and Eloise Cincotta. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews as well as countless dear friends. Along with her husband, Francis Cincotta, she was predeceased by her parents Giovanni “John” and Giovannina “Jennie” (LoSchiavo) Paino and siblings Joseph Paino, John Paino and wife Josephine, Mary Paino, Helen Rando and husband John, Arthur Paino and wife Gloria and Joan Paino.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the many caregivers that helped take such wonderful care of mom in recent years.
The burial service will be private however arrangements for a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105, stjude.org.
