Limerick, Maine - Julia Patricia (Sughrue) Morris passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Limerick, Maine on January 8, 2021 at the age of 86. She was born on November 2, 1934 in Boston to the late Richard and Marion (Madden) Sughrue. She was married to the late Thomas W. Morris.
She graduated from Tewksbury High School in 1952. She was chosen "Miss Congeniality" her senior year. A title well suited for her sweet, caring and always positive nature. She continued to volunteer and help others throughout her lifetime. Julia was an active member of St. Thomas Church in Wimington, Mass. teaching Sunday School for many years. She was a Campfire Girl leader and volunteered in all levels of her children's education system in Wilmington public schools. Julia owned and operated a dance studio in Wilmington called "Sughrue Sisters Studio of Dance"
Julia, along with her family, spent summers at their lake cottage in Maine. In retirement, Julia and Tom spent their time between Maine and Florida. They also enjoyed many trips across the U.S.A. and Europe. Julia was a wonderful person and friend to all. She will be greatly missed.
Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by siblings: Joan M. Dunlevy, Mary E. Burke, John R. Sughrue, Richard J. Sughrue and Marion M. "Cookie" Sundgaard.
Surviving are her three children: Michael T. Morris, Julia A. Edmonson and Timothy P. Morris. Her daughter-in-law, Joanne Morris. Grandchildren: Brian T. Edmonson and wife Briana, Matthew P. Morris and Lauren N. Morris. Her first great granddaughter, Abigail May Edmonson. Also her sisters: Barbara A. Roper and husband Gerald and Theresa J. Patterson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
