James "Ricky" White, 61, of Douglas passed away Monday, January 11, 2021, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Bishop Richard Denning, Jr. officiating. Mr. White will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. COVID-19 guidelines will be observed during the visitation and the funeral service.
Reggie White, Stacey White, Wes Benson, Jay Adkins, Bruce White and Verlin White will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie White and Gerald White.
Born March 14, 1959 in Brunswick, Mr. White was the son of Gerald C. White of Douglas and the late Christine Powell White. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Allman; and one sister, Joann White. Before retiring, he was the supervisor at Griffin Warehouse. He loved spending time with his family and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his father, Mr. White is survived by his wife, Vicky Marin White of Douglas; one son, Todd White of Charlotte, North Carolina; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Jay Adkins and Katie and Wes Benson, all of Tifton and Ashley and Tim Slaven of Texas; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Gerald and Sandra White of Vidalia, Freddie and Donna White of Tifton and Bruce White of Franklin, North Carolina; and seven grandchildren, Bradley Benson, Kaylin Benson, Abbigail Benson, Jayden Adkins, Bralynn Adkins, Nadia Stephens and Jaydon Slaven.
