Betty Rose Shivers Sumner, 87, of Tifton passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Sumner at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery in Omega, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Jimmie Hinson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery in Omega from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Mrs. Sumner was born March 19, 1933 and was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Clinton Sumner, Sr. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Sumner is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy Jr. and Diane Sumner of Brookfield and David and Helen Sumner of Lenox; one daughter and son-in-law, Audrey Rose and Joe Burns of Tifton; six grandchildren, Samuel Sumner III, Laura Sumner, Brandy Searcy, Joey Burns, Jennifer Jenkins and Cindy Livingston Bullington; seven great-grandchildren, Kennedy Rose Sumner, Levi Burns, Allen Jenkins, Emily Jenkins, David Bullington Jr., Zack Bullington and Grace Bullington; and one great-great grandson, David Bullington III.
