Susan E. Mudrey (Hicks), 72, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at her home in Franklin, Massachusetts after a long illness. She was the wife of Lawrence J. Mudrey whom she shared 44 years of marriage with.
She was born in Albany, N.Y. on December 17, 1948. Susan spent the majority of her life living in Castleton N.Y. until moving to Franklin with her beloved husband in 2010 to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and newborn grandson.
Susan enjoyed spending time at the ocean, especially in New Hampshire, Maine and Cape Cod which she would frequently visit with her family. She worked at the Sand Lake Town library for many years and was an avid reader. Susan also loved animals, especially her cat Zoe.
Her greatest joy came from only grandchild, Alexander J. Eberly who she spent many hours with playing, reading, and talking about the world with.
In addition to her husband and grandson, she is survived by her daughter Sarah K. Eberly (Mudrey) and her husband Christopher D. Eberly of Norwood, MA. Her mother, Dorothy E. Hicks (Crowder) of Troy, NY, brother Steven W. Hicks, his wife Christine Hicks, and nephew Jonathan T. Hicks of Castleton on Hudson, N.Y. She is predeceased by her father, JT Wendall Hicks.
She will be remembered as a beloved daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, and grandmother (Nana) and will always be in our hearts.
A Memorial celebration to her life will be planned for a later date.
