HOLYOKE – Annette U. (Vanasse) St. Martin, 96, of Holyoke, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, January 7, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Health Care Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on October 5, 1924, a beloved daughter of the late Edward A. and Noella E. (Fredette) Vanasse. She was employed as the Secretary of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Holyoke and also the Cemetery Administrator for Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and currently was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting and trying her luck at the casinos. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Leo J. St. Martin who was Called Home on May 17, 1999. She leaves her two loving daughters, Barbara A. Bunyan of South Hadley and Claire C. Larsen and her husband, Eugene, of San Antonio, TX; her four cherished grandchildren who will miss their “Memere”, Mark R. Adams and his wife, Lisa, of South Hadley, Vanessa L. Adams of Springfield and Greg M. McNulty and Barbara J. Stark, both of San Antonio, TX; her six cherished great-grandchildren who will miss their “Mem”, Jordan Leonard, Morgan Adams, Lauren Capannola, Sophia Daniels, Anthony Adams and Leo Stark; her cherished great-grandson, Logan Lozada; her dear sister, Constance Robidoux of Granby; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the St. Martin and Vanasse families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Jon B. Bunyan; her sister, Sister Claire Vanasse of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary; and her brother-in-law, Roland Robidoux. Her family would like to thank Kristen for always being there. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home, church and cemetery capacity is limited due to state regulations).
