Worcester: James F. Connolly, 61, passed away on Tuesday January 5th, 2021. He leaves behind three sons, James P. Connolly of Cranston RI., Robert J. Connolly of Boston, MA., Colin J. Connolly and his wife Lucia of Planfield, VT. His brothers Michael D. Connolly and his wife Elizabeth of Shrewsbury, Stephen F. Connolly and his wife Tia of Las Vegas, NV. One grandson, Parker P.J. Connolly of Planfield, VT. Three aunts and two uncles - Stephen and Frances O'Brien of Burlington, MA Katherine Mulligan of Canada, and Daniel and Margaret Shea of Virginia Beach, VA. Eleven nieces and nephews, Arlene, Melissa, Pamela, Mary, Michael, Brandon, Kerry, Kelly, Alexander, John and Sara; and many great nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. He also, leaves behind his long-time companion Darlene Maccan. He was predeceased by four brothers Patrick, Colin, John and Alexander.
Jimmy was born in Winchester, MA, son of the late John and Roberta (Duncan) Connolly. He attended Worcester public schools and was known for being a great athlete and was an MVP in multiple sports, including football, baseball and basketball. After high school he enlisted into the US Marine Corps and proudly served his country on active duty from 1978 – 1981. After he completed his military service he worked as a blue collar tradesman for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, music, being outside and spending time with his family. He rooted for all New England sports teams. He loved his sons and grandson, his parents, his brothers and his extended family very much. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends.
Calling hours with Covid 19 precautions, to include masks and social distancing will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel on 300 Lincoln St. Worcester MA 01605. A funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. Bernard's Church of Our Lady of Providence Parish 236 Lincoln St. Worcester. The burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
