Katheryn H. Barrett, 82, of Tifton, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Coffee County, Georgia, with Elder Philip Smith officiating.
Mrs. Barrett was born August 22, 1938, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late William Floyd & Lillie Griffin Hutto. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from Ben Hill-Irwin Tech in September, 1971. She worked for Dorminy Medical Center for 32 years and Dr. Jim Luckie for 20 years. She loved nursing and caring for others. She was particularly fond of working in the Emergency Room. She loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She took pride in her yards and loved planting lots of flowers. Mrs. Barrett enjoyed baking and cooking, especially for the Christmas holidays. She loved to quilt and made quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Regena Brown of Tifton, Tami & Anthony Sandiford of Tifton, and Norman & Donna Barrett of Daytona Beach, Florida; grandchildren: Becky Mitchell of Dothan, Alabama, Adam & Ashlea Branch of Douglas, Chris & Donna Brown of Ocilla, Rhianna Lynn Branch of Alapaha, Hillary & Codey Taylor of Fitzgerald, and Alecia Sandiford of Columbus; great-grandchildren: Kynnedy Bennett, Kyler Bennett, Jace Goins, Tucker Branch, Evan Branch, Bentley Sandiford, Bryson Sandiford, and Arianna Matheson on the way. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd E. Barrett; a grandson, Kevin Branch; three brothers; and two sisters.
