Alan A. Barros, 77, of New Bedford died Sunday, January 3, 2021 at home after a long illness. He was the husband of Jane A. (Blackburn) Barros.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late William and Josephine (Barros) Carter, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was employed as a bus driver for Tremblay's Bus Company for many years.
Alan enjoyed driving and seeing different sites as he traveled and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Morgan Barros and Alan Barros, III, who helped care for him.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; two sons, Alan Barros and John Barros; his daughter, Jude Pina; three sisters, Barbara Bruce, Wendy McCarthy, and Julie Carter; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Derek Gonsalves.
