Age 78, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2020. Tom was born April 18, 1942, the son of Raymond and Mary (Walsh) Newton. He was united in marriage to Judith McBride on November 5, 1960. They were blessed with four children and were fortunate to celebrate 60 years of marriage. Tom retired in 2002 after 40 years as a Switchman for the Canadian Pacific Railway. While retired, he had time to pursue his love of golf and time to finish his outdoor projects. He loved a well-manicured lawn and a spotless vehicle. If you found him watching TV, it would always be tuned to a cowboy show. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife, Judith Newton; children, Lori, Patrick, Frank, and Julie; siblings, Raymond (Kathy), James (Evelyn), Michael, Eileen, John (Debra), and Russel. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary; brothers, George and Donald; sisters, Patsy and Mary Jean; and sister-in-law, Karen. A private visitation and service is set for Saturday, January 9, 2021 at St. Stanislaus Church.
