James P. "Jimmy" Scadding, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 60 years of age.
Jimmy was born in Boston on July 5, 1960, a son of the late Charles S. Scadding and Mary F. (Leeman) Scadding. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1978. Jimmy worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for the City of Boston and retired following over 20 years of dedicated service to the City of Boston. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed camping, attending his grandsons Charlestown youth hockey games and was always ready for a practical joke on anyone who he thought might be vulnerable. Jimmy was dedicated to his family and he took great pride and love when he was able to spend quality time with each one of them.
Jimmy is the beloved husband of 31 years to Inell (Coleman) Scadding. He is the devoted father of Christine Scadding, Jennifer Scadding and Jillian Scadding. He is the loving Papa to Aidan, Cali and Liam. He is the beloved brother of Joe Scadding, Cathy LaKing, Mary Murphy, John Scadding, Christine Lee and the late Susan Scadding, Barry Scadding and Bobby Scadding. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jimmy's visiting hours on Saturday morning, January 9, 2021 from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. His burial will be private.
