Obituary

Dottie Moore Ross, 86, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Ocilla Cemetery in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla, Georgia.

Mrs. Ross was born February 9, 1934, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late James & Ola Myrtice Dix Moore. She accompanied her husband all over the world during his service in the Air Force. Following his retirement, they returned to Irwin County where she worked for Red & White Supermarket. Mrs. Ross was a homemaker. She loved to cook, read and do oil paintings. She was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldog fan. Mrs. Ross was a member of Ocilla United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Scott Verdane Ross of Irwin County and Roger Dean Ross & Debra of Locust Grove; grandchildren: Zachary Ross & Ashli, Scott Brandon Ross, Amber Lea O’Neal & Chris, Brandy Leigh Ross and Natalie Ross; great-grandchildren: Tristian O’Neal, Anslee O’Neal, Kiffin James Ross, Rhett Ross and Ridley Ross; sisters: Joyce Giddens of Fitzgerald, Alice Huff of Orange Park, Florida, Deanie Cleghorn & H.L. of Fitzgerald and Pat Smith & Troy of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oris Earl Ross; a son, Terry Earl Ross and three brothers: John Eddie Moore, Jack Kenneth Moore and James Russell Moore.
