Jennie M. (Edwards) Foster, age 96, of Dracut, passed away on January 3, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late James A Foster.
Born and raised in Temple, NH, she was educated at the local schools, and was a member of the Congregational Church there. Jennie worked for many years for several of the wealthiest families in Temple. She worked in the Rug Mills and during WWII then moved to Boston where she became a nurse at the Boston Hospital.
Jennie left her nursing career when she was married to bring up her family. Although she left her nursing career she spent her life caring for others. She loved Music and arts. She created beautiful braided rugs and was a wonderful and caring mother to not only her children, but to others as well.
Jennie was adored and survived by her children James E. Foster and wife Sandi of Bedford, Martha M. Collins and husband Robert of Augusta, ME and Yvonne Alexa and husband Richard of Dracut. She was also the devoted grandmother of James E. Foster, Jr., Jamie Koch , Randy Messino, Nichole Messino, Christine Morrow, Alan Alexa, Mollie Bordeaux, and Brock Collins. She is further lovingly survived by many great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Friday, January 8, at 12noon, followed by a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home at 1PM, and are asked to wear masks, enter through the front door, and practice social-distancing. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, 586 Washington St., Winchester.
