FALL RIVER – Maria V. Almeida, age 93 of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021. Born in Remedios da Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Acores, Maria was the daughter of the late Manuel & Maria (Viveiros) Martins, and the wife of the late Antonio Almeida.
Maria was a housewife and homemaker, busy raising her 12 children. She was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church, and loved spending time with her large family and friends.
She is survived by her twelve children: Antonio Almeida (Dolores), Helena Tavares (Cesar), Odelia Mello (Antonio), Evangelina Goncalo (Jose), Lourdes Miranda (Ronaldo), Connie Pimental (Carlos), Filomena Ponte (Frank), Sandra Carvalho (Jack), Aldina Borges (George), Joe Almeida (Elis), Peter Almeida (Lucy), and Paul Almeida; nine siblings, 22 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews.
Maria’s funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, with a Private Family Viewing on Saturday, Jan. 9th from 7:30-9:30 A.M. and a Public Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Michael’s Church.
