Terrence E. Talley, 58, of New Bedford died January 1, 2021 unexpectedly at work.
He was the husband of Donelle M. Gomes-Talley.
Born in New York City, son of the late Thomas E. and Helen E. (Stewart) Talley, he was raised in the Bronx before moving to New Bedford.
He was a graduate of the Governor's Academy and Boston College where he was a star basketball player at both schools. He received his Masters Degree in Education from Cambridge College.
He was dedicated to working with the youth in the community. He was employed as a supervisor at Elliott House in Roslindale. He was previously employed as a teacher in the Lynn School Department, a outreach program coordinator at St. Vincent Home in Fall River and was Vice Principal at Resiliency Prep School in Fall River.
He enjoyed music, video games, the company of his dog Domino and all of his extended family.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, James Talley and his wife Carol Lee of Bronx, NY; his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Carol Gomes of New Bedford; his aunt, Yvonne Winston and her husband Donald of Bronx, NY; and his uncle, William Stewart of New York.
Due to Covid-19, his services will be private. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
