Nancy A. Sachuk, 62, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2020 surrounded by her loving family and her devoted significant other Thomas Saccoccia.
Born in Providence, Nancy lived in Smithfield since 1984.
She was the daughter of the late Silvia (Nardolillo) Roselli and Guido Roselli. She was the former wife of Steven Sachuk, who passed away in 2004.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Maria Laborio and her beloved grandson Joey Laborio.
She also leaves her siblings, Sylvia DeFalco of Johnston, Thomas Roselli and his wife Patti of Saunderstown and Paul Roselli of Harrisville. She leaves her loving nieces and nephews and her two feline friends Louie and Libby.
Nancy was a graduate of RI College School of Nursing where she received her bachelor’s degree in 1983. She received her master’s degree from Salve Regina University in 1998.
She began her nursing career at RI Hospital and then worked at various home care agencies throughout the state, retiring in 2019 from Pinnacle Home Care.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the piano and gardening. She was a patient volunteer at RI Hospital and a member of the Women’s Support group at the Lifespan Cancer Institute.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Nancy Sachuk fund for GI Cancer at the Lifespan Cancer Institute, 139 Point Street, Providence, RI 02903. All donations to this fund are going to support those who are denied access to chemotherapy treatment due to financial hardship.
A Memorial Mass with social distancing, face masks required and seating will be at a reduced capacity due to COVID restrictions will be held on Wednesday at 10:30am in Our Lady of Grace Church, Waterman Avenue, Johnston. Private burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston.
