Margaret A. “Margie” O’Leary
...V.P. of the Yankee Doodle Cloggers; 64
LOWELL - Margaret A. “Margie” (Long) O’Leary, age 64, the Vice President of the Yankee
Doodle Cloggers, died unexpectedly on Tuesday afternoon, March 14, at Saints Memorial
Medical Center in Lowell. She was the wife of Francis X. “Brother” O’Leary, with whom she had
celebrated a 40th wedding anniversary this past September 7th.
She was born in Barberton, Ohio, on February 28, 1942, a daughter of the late Glenn and
Margaret (Donogan) Long. She was raised in Cambridge, and Medford, and had lived in
Tewksbury and Billerica for fifteen years before moving to the Belvedere section of Lowell five
years ago. She was graduated from Medford High School.
Besides her membership in the Yankee Doddle Cloggers, she was a regular player at the Billerica
Elks Bingo nights on Wednesday evenings for more than twenty years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph O’Leary and his
wife Deborah (Raymond) of Pelham, NH, Michael O’Leary and his wife Elizabeth (Roux) of
Lowell; a daughter, Debra O’Leary of Lowell; five grandchildren, Stephen, Emma, Dyllan,
Abigal, and Meghan; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Glenda Goldstein and her husband Harvey
of Woburn, Patricia Vincente of Revere, Mary Ellen Forrest of Woburn; her sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law, Paul and Irene O”Leary of Sharon, Charles and Jane O’Leary of Braintree,
Patricia and Paul Lawrence of Dedham, Gerald O’Leary of West Roxbury; and many nieces and
nephews.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Mar. 17, in St. William’s Church,
Tewksbury. Burial was in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
