Inez S. Santos, 99, of New Bedford died Friday, January 1, 2021 at Our Lady's Haven after a long illness.
Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Maria (Ramos) and Raphael Charles Santos, she was raised by her aunt, Mary Ramos Perry and Godfather, Joseph E. Perry, and lived in New Bedford for many years.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Ms. Santos was formerly employed as a stitcher at Calvin Clothing until her retirement.
She was a member of the Cape Verdean Progressive Center in East Providence, RI, and the Cape Verdean Women's Social Club in New Bedford.
Survivors include two grandchildren, LaShaan Depina and David P. Depina II; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Hill and Rachelle Depina; and nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Bernadette Depina and Rafael C. Santos; sister of the late Archangela M. Fortes, Joseph Perry, and Antone R. Santos; and mother-in-law of the late David P. Depina.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 1-4 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions, her Funeral Mass and burial will be held privately. For online guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
