Peggy J. Blake, 86 of Derry, NH died Friday January 1, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born in Webster City, IA on April 27, 1934 a daughter of the late John and Florence (Long) Grady. She had resided in Derry since 1938, formerly living in Woodsville, NH.
Peggy was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She had a heart of gold with a stubborn Irish temper and a great sense of humor that we will all miss greatly. She was her children and grandchildren’s biggest fan and touched many hearts though out her 86 years. Peggy enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and was an avid baker for her family.
She is survived by her children, Tom Brinkmann of North Carolina, Shawna Barden of Derry, Pamela Defrancesco of Derry, and Sheila Blake of Derry, six grandchildren, Corey Brinkmann of North Carolina, Lyndsey Barden of Derry, Jesse Maheu of Londonderry, Sarah Collins of Derry, Joseph Barden of Derry, and Jake Defrancesco of Londonderry, five great-grandchildren, her siblings, Collen Nault of Manchester, Kathy Jorgenson and Gail Blodgett both of Iowa, Jack Grady of Manchester, Tom Grady of Goffstown, and her step-brother, Norman Richards of Bedford. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Blake in 1988, her stepmother, Lucienne Grady, her sister, Ruth Fournier, and by her step-brothers, Roland and Robert Richards.
Funeral services will be held privately by the family. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
