Douglas H. Smith, 81, of Derry, NH, died Monday December 28, 2020 at his daughter's home where he had been living since October. He was born in Port Huron, MI on July 6, 1939, a son of the late Henry Smith and Frances (Graves) Smith. He was a former resident of Port Huron, MI. Douglas was a Navy veteran serving during the Post World War II era. He had been employed as a salesman for many years, retiring from Independent Floor Coverings in Port Huron, MI. He had an avid love for sailing and spent many of his days on the water in sail races on Lake Huron.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Wragg and her husband Terry Wragg of Derry; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and his brother, Timothy Smith of Sonoma, Ca. He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Smith.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date in Michigan. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
