FALL RIVER – Ana (Valente) Barata, age 87, of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020 in the comforts of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Aveiro, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Maria Valente and the late Maria Joana DaSilva Lopes. Ana was the beloved wife of Anibal Barata for 62 yrs.
Prior to retiring, Ana worked for Ideal-Bias as a machine operator and was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church. In her pastime, Ana loved to cook, listen to music, sing and dance.
In addition to her husband, Anibal, she is survived by her two daughters: Isabel Paz (husband Fernando) of Fall River and Maria da Fatima Barata of Lisboa; her brother: Daniel Valente of Lisboa; eight grandchildren: Ruben, Anibal, & Dario Paz, Tania Couturier, Carina, Fabio, & Tatiana Paz, and Margarida Qua; four great-grandchildren: Harper Paz, Khloe & Kaylee Couturier, and Leo da Silva; nieces & nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, Jan 6th. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, F.R. Calling hours on Tuesday, Jan 5th from 6-8 P.M.
