Francis J. McCarthy, 75, of Worcester died Thursday, December 31st at The Willows. He is survived by a niece, Heather M. Underhill and her husband, Graeme of Raymond, NH; a nephew, Peter McCarthy and his son, Tyler; and his sister-in-law, Sheila McCarthy all of Charlton, MA. He was predeceased by his brother, Bernard W. McCarthy, Jr.
Francis was born in Worcester, the son of Bernard W. and Mary V. (Cafferty) McCarthy. He worked as an accountant for Raytheon Technologies for more than 35 years. Francis was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was known to take extensive walks around Worcester with his dogs and he especially loved having breakfast with Dick Wall and steak dinners with Pam Belanger; his close friends who will miss him dearly.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 4th at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street. Please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donation be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
