West Boylston
Mary F. (O’Connell) Murphy, 81, formerly of Sterling St. died Tuesday (July16) in Holden Nursing Home, Holden after an illness.
Her husband of 52 years, John H. Murphy died in 1998. She leaves a daughter, Karen A. Cavan of Holden, a brother, Edward O’Connell of Vienna, VA a sister, Phyllis Pearson of Shrewsbury, three grandchildren.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Edward and Mary (Condon) O’Connell. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy.
She was a supervisor for several years for Wachusett Molding retiring in 1985.She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and past president of its Woman’s Club and a member of the Beaman Garden Club.
A Funeral will be held Monday (July 22) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home (www.faybrothers.com) 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Christophers Church 950 West Boylston St. Worcester. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling Hours are Sunday (July21) from 4 to7 p.m. at the funeral home.
