Sharon M. Mascaro, R.N., 75, of Tupelo Court in Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, December 20th at the Little Rock Veteran’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Mascaro, Jr., her husband of 42 years.
Born in Methuen, Massachusetts to the late Albert and Rita (Donahoe) Hogan, she lived in Smithfield, Rhodes island for more than 30 years before spending the last 15 years in Jacksonville. She was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army as nurse in a MASH unit.
Sharon graduated from the former St. Theresa Academy and the former RI Hospital Nursing School. She worked as an R.N. At Rhode Island Hospital and the VA Medical Center, both in Providence, Rhode Island.
She leaves behind her loving children Joseph Mascaro, III of Smithfield, RI, and Matthew A. Mascaro of Rio Rancho, NM, and her grandson Anthony T. Mascaro. She is also survived by her sister Claire Teixeira and her husband George, of Milton, Florida, and her sister Maureen Kinosian of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Sharon was laid to rest in a private service with Military Honors at St. Ann’s cemetery in Cranston, Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Providence VA Medical Center, 830 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island 02908, 401-273-7100.
