Anthony L. Medeiros Sr., age 86 of Woburn formerly of Arlington past away Monday, March 13th at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center of Burlington following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn (Lupo) Medeiros. Born in Cambridge he was the son of the late Manuel and Gloria (Silva) Medeiros.
Mr. Medeiros was a resident of Arlington for the majority of his life and most recently was living in Woburn for more than ten years. Mr. Medeiros was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII serving as a Machinist Mate Third Class from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of the Arlington American Legion Post # 39. He work for the Town of Arlington for over forty years and retired as the Supervisor of Motor Equipment Repairs. Over the years Mr. Medeiros enjoyed golfing and camping but was mostly devoted to caring and providing for his family.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children, Anthony L. Medeiros Jr. and his wife Clara of Billerica, Nancy Lyons of Billerica, and Mary Beth Chiasson of Maryland. He is also survived by nine loving grandchildren and seven loving great grandchildren. He is further survived by one brother, Manuel Medeiros of NH, two sisters, Eleanor Tanner of Arlington and Jean Medeiros Lydon of NH. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Edward Medeiros.
His funeral will be from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Friday, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
