Susan Jayne (Perriello) Salani, age 64, a lifetime resident of Winchester, passed away on December 29, 2020, after a valiant fight with cancer. She was the beloved wife for 31 years of Paul L. Salani.
Born in Medford, she was raised and educated in Winchester. Sue was a graduate of Winchester High School with the class of 1974, and spent the majority of her career working with the elderly as a Senior Care Director, a job she loved.
Sue and Paul were introduced by a mutual friend while they were all attending the same clambake in Burlington, and it was then that she met the love of her life. They married in 1989 and started their family. She was known throughout the neighborhood, by all of the kids, as “Mama Sue”.
In her spare time, Sue enjoyed walking her dog, “Dolce”. With her social personality and great heart, she made many friends along the way, and always found time to stop and chat and spend time with seniors and the disabled people she met in her travels. It was her special gift, and she shared it kindly and generously. She loved going to beaches anywhere, and her favorites to visit were Revere Beach, Good Harbor, Plum Island, on the Cape in Yarmouth and in Maine. She also enjoyed baking, especially her apple crisp and other dessert delicacies.
A fashionista, Sue also enjoyed shopping and could always be found wearing the latest style. Her shopping trips were legendary, and her incredible taste helped lead her to the finest clothes and accessories. She also had a keen eye for interior design and decorating, and took pride in her “magazine-worthy” home. Sue also loved to dine out at fine restaurants, and she and Paul frequented many of her favorites.
In addition to her husband, Paul, Sue is survived by her daughter, Jessica, and her fiancé Dan Disher, of Billerica. She was also the dear sister of Elizabeth Perriello of Medford and Steven Perriello of VA, and is further survived by several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
In adherence to the Covid-19 restrictions and precautions, Funeral Services and Burial are private.
