Antonio J. Matos, 66, of New Bedford died December 30, 2020 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of Maria C. (Medeiros) Matos.
Born in Agua de Pau, Sao Miguel, Azores, son of the late Antonio B. and Maria R. (Piques) Matos, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He enjoyed soccer and was an avid Benfica fan.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Michael Matos and his wife Jessica and Jonathan Matos of New Bedford; 2 brothers, John Matos of Mattapoisett and Louie Matos of New Bedford; 3 sisters, Fernanda De Sousa, Margarida Sousa and Germina Raposa, all of New Bedford; a granddaughter, Lily Matos; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Arthur Matos.
His visitation will be held on Monday, January 4th from 5-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Due to capacity limits, his Funeral Service and burial will be private.
