CHICOPEE ~ Joann L. “Jo” Mailhott, 56, of South Hadley, was Called Safely Home on Monday, December 28, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on January 15, 1964, a beloved daughter of Claire T. (Monast) Mailhott of South Hadley and the late Leo P. Mailhott. She was raised in South Hadley, graduated from South Hadley High School, received her Associate’s Degree from Holyoke Community College and was a lifelong resident of South Hadley. She was last employed at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley. Most of all, she was a compassionate and loving person who was always willing to help any person or creature, large or small, who was in need of her help and love. In addition to her beloved mother, she also leaves her loving brothers and sister, Paul R. Mailhott and his wife, Christine, Linda C. Swenson and her husband, Roy, and Bruce J. Mailhott and his wife, Linda, all of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews and nieces including, Neil Swenson and Stefanie Adkison who were loved as if they were her own children, Michele, Michael, and Marc Mailhott, Christine Casey, Erica Martinez, and Stacey Kelly; several grandnephews and grandnieces; and her many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family members in Canada. Besides her father, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Leo P. Mailhott, Jr. who was Called Home on July 10, 2017; and her dear sister, Debbie L. Mailhott who was Called Home on July 4, 1970. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, all arrangements will be private at this time for her immediate family. Her family will announce a Celebration of her Life in the summer when the pandemic has subsided.
