Frances Hutto Craig, 87, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Pruitt Health Care in Ocilla. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Craig at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Lax Community Cemetery in Irwin County, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Marcus Tucker will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Lax Community Cemetery in Irwin County from 3:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born March 5, 1933 in Irwin County, Mrs. Craig was the daughter of the late Willie Jordan Hutto and Effie Merritt Hutto. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wesley Craig; one son, Richard Dwight Griffin; one daughter, Ann Griffin Hill; one sister, Susie Chaney; and seven brothers. Before retiring, she was a paraprofessional with the Tift County School System and she attended Lax Holiness Baptist Church in Irwin County.
Mrs. Craig is survived by one daughter, Louise Hudson of Tifton; two sisters, Elizabeth Barrentine and Myram Stephens; four grandchildren, Tina Murray, Misty Whitehead, John Anthony Tomberlin and Haley Griffin; and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Collier, Griffin Collier, Hudson McClure and Mason McClure.
