MANCHESTER – Donalda Beatrice (Hebert) Lessard, 95, of Manchester, passed away on Dec. 24, 2020 at home surrounded by her family, after a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester, NH, on September 25, 1925, to Napoleon and Julia (Cayer) Hebert.
She worked for a time in the Amoskeag Mills where she met her future husband, Richard. They married on Dec. 2, 1944 and enjoyed 48 years of marriage before his death in 1993. In late 1946, she began working at the J.F. McElwain Shoe factory on Roger St. as a Fancy Stitcher until 1958, when she became the caregiver for her aging father. In 1963, she worked as a Coater for RCL Electronics, leaving when the company closed in the 70’s. She finished her career at Myrna Shoe retiring in 1987.
She loved, valued and treasured her family more than anything in the world, and was never happier than when they were all together. She enjoyed cooking all of her family’s favorite French foods, sewing special outfits for the little ones, and singing all the older songs of her youth. She was a member of the ACGS, and enjoyed researching her ancestors. She also especially enjoyed her vacations to many parts of the Eastern US and Canada with her daughter, Yvette, and friend, Lorraine Cote.
Besides her husband, Donalda was also predeceased by her youngest daughter, Jeannette E. Lessard in 2007.
Family members include three children, Yvette Lessard, George Lessard , and Therese (Lessard) Clement and husband, Ronald, all of Manchester; three grandchildren, Cynthia Trippiedi and husband, Anthony of Candia, Tracy Debus and husband, Walter of Nottingham, and Kathy Montplaisir and husband, Ian, of Spring Hill, FL., three great-grandchildren, Cody Beaulieu, Ryan Trippiedi and Lauren Trippiedi, two great-stepchildren, Courtney Debus and Travis Montplaisir. She also leaves behind many
nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Parish for 65 years.
The family wishes to thank the staff at VNA Hospice of Manchester for their loving care and compassion.
Walk through calling hours with masks and social distancing will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. Manchester.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 11 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Litchfield.
Burial will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic a “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.
