Virginia R. Shilalie, 91, of Worcester died peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2020. She is predeceased by her parents, Gabriel and Marcella (Cesnulis) Shilalie, and her siblings, Joseph J. Shilalie and Nellie Skinisky. She is survived by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and many dear close friends.
Virginia attended the former Worcester Commerce High School and worked as a library assistant at the Worcester Public Library for most of her career. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Vilna Catholic Church where she volunteered managing the parish office for many years, and welcoming the Vietnamese community to the parish, developing many new friendships as a result.
A private funeral Mass will be offered and a memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the wonderful staff at Christopher Heights in Worcester, where she lived for the past few years, and the many people in the local healthcare community who offered her excellent care, support, and kindness in her later years.
