Obituary

Kevin P. Kefalas "Squash" of Salem passed away on December 21, 2020 at the age of 64 at the NSMC/Salem Hospital from complications due to Covid 19. He was the devoted husband of Paula Arkalis Kefalas and recently celebrated 40 years of marriage.
vendor in Salem. He and Paula worked side by side, in downtown Salem, for over 25 years. He enjoyed his work and loved meeting people from all over the world. It always put a big smile on his face when people would greet him with "Sausage Man " or Hotdog Man" Kevin especially enjoyed spending time with his two sons P.J. and Nick watching sports on TV. Kevin had a grandson, Colby, whom he loved and adored, making special times for him to play video games when he stayed over and visited. Kevin was a wonderful, loving, and caring husband, father, Papou, brother, and friend. He and Paula worked together, played together, laughed together and got serious together. Totally devoted to each other, he will be greatly missed, forever loved and never forgotten by those whose lives he touched.
Kevin also enjoyed the game of pool. He was a very strong, talented player, and was inducted into the New England Pool and Billiards Hall of Fame in 2010. During his Pool Playing years Kevin played in many tournaments, with much success. He belonged to many pool leagues where he enjoyed playing and being with others.
He is predeceased by his father James Kefalas; mother Gloria Kefalas and Donald Boisvert; father and mother-in-law Paul and Olga Arkalis; brothers-in-law, Ron Blanchette and Tony Arkalis. Kevin is survived by his loving wife Paula Arkalis Kefalas his son P.J. and his wife Amy and their son Colby; his son Nick, sister Jamie Blanchette, brother Nicholas, brother Jimmy and his wife Linda, their children Katie and Chris, his sister-in-law Cassie Arkalis, her son Pete, as well as many grandnieces, cousins and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be private due to the current pandemic. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
