Deborah Meeks, 38, of Broxton, Georgia, died Saturday, March 11, 2006 at her mother’s home in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, March 16, 2006, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Howard Kitchens officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Meeks was born April 1, 1967, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Marie Ball Bales and the late Joseph Ward Bales. She grew up in Fitzgerald and lived in Broxton for the past six years. Mrs. Meeks was a homemaker and she studied engineering at Ben Hill-Irwin Technical School. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Meeks is survived by her husband: Michael L. Meeks of Broxton; daughter: Ashley Lynn DeWitt of Broxton; son: Oscar E. DeWitt, III of Douglas; Mother: Marie B. Bales of Fitzgerald; sister: Hazel Marie Archer of Portsmouth, VA; stepdaughters: Christine Smith of Valdosta and Brenda Meeks of Douglas; 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, William F. “PoBoy” Bales.
