Gladys M. Beal, 95, of Douglas, Georgia, died Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Vista Park in Douglas, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will greet friends at the cemetery.
Mrs. Beal was born July 8, 1925, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Lewis T. & Iva Dorminy Myers. She was a homemaker for many years. After her children were grown, she earned her nursing degree from Ben Hill Irwin Tech and worked as an LPN at Coffee Regional Hospital. She served alongside her late husband, Rev. Otis Beal, as a minister’s wife and pianist in the churches he served. She loved to sew and make crafts. She enjoyed yard work and growing flowers. She was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church in Douglas.
She is survived by her children: Ronald Edward Beal & Nadya of Cartersville, Otis Paul Beal and Mike Burns of Palm Springs, California, Stephen Timothy Beal of Adel, and Sharon Beal Shealey of Ocilla; and grandchildren: Eddie James, Courtney Beal Spriggs, Jonathan Beal, Jeff Greer, Al Shealey, Michelle Morris, Morgan Stone, Timmy Beal, and Lindsay Beal Surrency. Many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
