Arminda (DeBarros) Santos, 82, of East Providence, RI passed away at home on Friday December 25, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Amelia DeBarros and Ricardo Delgado, she lived in Providence for most of her life and had resided in New Bedford for about ten years.
Arminda loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Joao B. Fortes and his wife Lubelia, Benilde DaSilva and her husband Antonio, and Constance DaSilva and her husband Eugenio; 11 grandchildren, Nelson, Stacey, Christina, Sara, James, Veronica, Anthony, Amanda, John, Christopher, and Nicholas; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Santos, her longtime companion, Aurelio Fortes, her daughter, Emelia DeBarros Santos, and her siblings, Domingo Delgado, Joao Delgado, Jovino Delgado, Constancia DePina, Maria Santos, Antonia Fortes, and Adelina Delgado.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 1, 2021 from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Due to capacity limits, her Funeral Mass and burial will be private for immediate family. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
