Dina C. (Tzingou) Naas, 64, of Worcester, died Christmas Day at home with her loving family by her side, after a four year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James A. Naas, III; her beloved son, James S. Naas of Worcester; her sister, Eleni (Tzingou) Logotheti of Athens, Greece; as well as her aunt Penelope Genkos and her cousin, Ted Genkos and his wife, Veda all of Worcester and several cousins.
She was born in Athens, Greece, the daughter of Spyridon and Koula (Ploumistou) Tzingos and came to Worcester at the age of ten. Dina was a graduate of Doherty Memorial High School and earned a degree in English from the American University in Athens. She had worked for several area banks in Worcester, for over 30 years, including WCIS, Bank of Boston, Fleet Bank, Bank of America and most recently, MCU retiring in 2015. Dina enjoyed traveling to Greece with her family, especially to the Island of Mykonos, where her mother's family had lived.
Her funeral is Wednesday, December 30th with a service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service in the Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donation be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
