Mr. George "John" Kelly passed away Saturday, March 11,2006 at the Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS.
The visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Friday, March 17,2006 from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Pleasant Green MB Church in Lafayette County on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 1:00 PM. The committal will be in the Pleasant Green MB Cemetery.
Mr. Kelly was born to the late Will and Allie (Brown) Kelly on February 22, 1922 in Taylor, Mississippi. He was a member and a deacon of Pleasant Green MB Church, served in the US Army during WWII and was a foster grandparent.
Mr. Kelly is survived by a daughter, Jane Turner of Rock Island, IL; two sons- John W. Kelley of Water Valley, MS and Robert L. Kelly of San Bernardino, CA; a step-daughter, Ruby Morgan of Rock Island, IL; a step-son, Williams Lewis of Chicago, IL; three sisters, Dorothy Kelly of Davenport, IA, Bennie Kelly and Maxine Johnson both of Rock Island, IL; three brothers, Willie Kelly of Savanna, GA, Robert Kelly and B. W. Kelly both of Davenport, IA; 12 Grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.
