Robert F. Mulvey (Grampy), of Billerica, formerly of Boston and Brunswick Maine, passed away on December 26, 2020 at age 90 after a courageous battle with cancer which he handled himself throughout this time with strength, fortitude and courage.
Bob was known for his keen intellect and wit. He loved a good cigar, a cocktail and good conversation.
Born in Boston on May 21, 1930, he was the son of George and Helen (Hagerty) Mulvey. He was pre-deceased by his sister Marilyn McHale, his daughter Cheryl Ann and granddaughters Kayla and Kaitlyn Mulvey. Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia (Richards) Mulvey. He was the loving and devoted father to his daughters Susan Mulvey of Lake Worth FL, Laura Voegelin and her husband Peter of Billerica, with whom he resided, sons John and his wife Ruth of Merrimack NH, Charles and his wife Deborah of Plymouth MA, and Robert Jr. and his wife Heather of Tewksbury MA. He was the cherished grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 12.
Bob was a proud veteran of the Korean War serving from 1951-1953, US Army. After his honorable discharge, he attended Wentworth Institute and received his Engineering degree. He worked for Charles T. Main in Boston and later for the Army Corps of Engineers in Waltham, where he later retired after a prestigious career.
Bob is also survived by his first wife June (Thayer) Belleau, his brother George and sister-in-law Sheila, a very special son-in-law John Caruso and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
