Frederick Ephrem Hassan, age 89, beloved husband of 68 years to the late Rosarina Francesca (Madonna) Hassan, passed away December 25, 2020. Frederick was the son of Massad and Taminie (Mohanna) Hassan. Born and raised in Brockton, MA, he continued to live in Brockton until retirement. Frederick worked for the Brockton Redevelopment Authority for 15 years. Prior, Frederick was a draftsman and worked as Manager of Product Control for Barnstead (Sybron) Stills and Sterilizers for more than 25 years.
Frederick was known as a quiet, yet strong man full of integrity. While serving in the Korean War, he mapped a portion of the existing DMZ line and quietly received numerous medals. Frederick was an active life-long member of St. Theresa Church. Following his retirement, Frederick and Rosarina moved to Dennisport. They both enjoyed spending time with their loving family.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses; Linda Hassan Ettensohn and David Ettensohn, Frederick and Lorrie Hassan, Edward and Lisa Hassan, and Tammi Hassan and Richard Grotz. Frederick was grandfather “Jiddi” to Derek Ettensohn, Matthew Hassan, Megan Hassan, Christopher (Tarryn) Hassan, Allison (John) Pearlman, Kevin (Katharine) Day, Anthony Hassan, Nicholas Hassan, Robert Hassan, David Grotz, Michael Grotz, Emily Grotz, and the late Kristen Ettensohn. He was also a great grandfather to Matthew and Bruce Pearlman. Frederick is survived by his sisters, Evelyn Nessralla and Lorraine Street and her husband William, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The Hassan Family would like to thank his multiple healthcare providers. Due to Covid, services will be private and a memorial mass and celebration of Frederick and Rosarina’s lives will be held at a later date.
