Mr. Fowle worked as a commercial fisherman out of New Bedford for most of his life. He was elected Port Agent for the New Bedford Fishermen's Union and served until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed the Red Sox, Patriots, "friendly" card games, KENO, scratch tickets and spending time with his good friend, John M. Above all, his family meant the world to him.
He is survived by Dottie, his loving wife of 70 years; two sons, David and his wife Patricia of Fairhaven and Dennis and his wife Karen of FL; his daughter-in-law, Jane Fowle of CT; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Durward Fowle, Jr.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Luke's Hospital for their tender care of Abe over the last month. Angels among us.
Per his wishes, his burial at Riverside Cemetery will be private under the direction of Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals. A celebration of life will be held in the near future. For online guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
