SPENCER: Ruth C. (Donahue) Maringo Surette, 88, of Howe Village, died Tuesday, Dec.22 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
She was the widow of John Surette. She leaves her son George C. Maringo, Jr. and his wife Joan of Millbury, three daughters; Donna M. Reis and her significant other, David Doherty of Holden, Mary A. Lambert of Spencer and Linda E. Fish and her husband Joseph of E.Brookfield, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband George C. Maringo, Sr. in 1980, and her son Michael Maringo.
Ruth worked at the former City Hospital School of Nursing many years ago. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society in Leicester. She was a devoted mother, and loved being a grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, playing cards and bingo. She was a faithful friend to everyone she knew. She had a witty, humorous personality.
Born in Taunton and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of Richard F. and Marion (Doane) Donahue and lived many years in Dade City, Fl. before returning here.
Private graveside services will be held in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
