Phyllis J. (Gunn) Choate, 88, of Uxbridge died Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge. She was the wife of Arnold G. Choate for the past 39 years.
Born in Cambridge on December 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Clarence H. and Sarah (Frausel) Gunn.
Phyllis was a resident of Uxbridge for the past 17 years and formerly resided in Medway. She grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin.
Before her retirement, she worked for the Department of Social Services for many years.
Phyllis enjoyed reading, knitting, doing puzzles and spending time at the beach.
Besides her husband, she is survived by; her son Richard E. Goodspeed and his wife Cheryl of Medway and their daughters, Laura and Lisa; and two daughters, Jane E. Tesson of Wellfleet and her children, Michael, Nathaniel and Caetlin; and Anne V. Cady of North Attleboro and her sons Jonathan and Brian.
She is also survived four great-grandchildren and one brother William Gunn of Havre De Grace, Maryland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Wednesday, December 30 from 12 - 1 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a private funeral service at 1 p.m.
