Carole White, Olyphant, died Thursday at the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center, Peckville. She was the widow of Thomas White.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Dorothy Kurcin Dunback. She was a former member of Holy Cross Parish and was employed as a seamstress with Miller Casket Co. before retirement.
Carole, also known as "Mama White," loved to cook for her family and anyone else that was in need of a good meal. She was always willing to share her recipes with anyone who asked. Her home was always open to anyone in need. She always looked forward to her daily phone call with her daughter Holly. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community, but especially by her best friend, Marley.
Surviving are her children: daughter, Holly and husband, John Guratosky, Dickson City; son, Thomas and wife, Kelly White, Olyphant; daughter, Theresea and companion, Erica Williams, Philadelphia; and son, Gary and companion, Tiffany Kobrick, Olyphant; grandchildren, Sarah and Tom Davis, Dickson City; Morgan White and companion, Dan Burian, Taylor; Karissa Heath, Carbondale; Collin White, Olyphant; and great-grandchild, Bailey Davis, Dickson City; also niece, Jean and husband, Paul Costanzi; and a brother, Ronald Dunback and wife, Ann Louise, Dunmore.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dunback; and a grandson, Michael Guratosky.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Sacred Heard of Dunmore and Lackawanna Health and Rehab of Sturges for the great care and compassion during these trying times.
