G.M. Tucker, 82, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Monday, December 21, 2020, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Private services will be held for his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Mr. Tucker was born October 6, 1938, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late G.B. & Willa Ree Morehead Tucker. He was a 1956 graduate of Irwin County High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Georgia in 1960. He worked for Commercial Credit in Valdosta following graduation. In 1964, he returned home to Irwin County where he married his wife and began a lifelong career of farming. He loved the Lord and his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was baptized into Eureka Primitive Baptist Church at the age of 19. He had been a Deacon for 45 years and had also served as clerk and treasurer.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Parsons Tucker of Irwin County; sons and their spouses: Ira & Holly Tucker of Irwin County, Jamey & Jessica Tucker of Christiansburg, Virginia, and Terry & Stacie Tucker of Tifton; grandchildren: Bradley & Brooke Tucker, Bryan & Addie Tucker, Hannah & Nick Lancaster, Abi & Josh Coble, Gracie Tucker, Zebedee Tucker, Zacharias & Elizabeth Tucker, Lydia Tucker, Ida Marie Tucker, Malachi Tucker, Nehemiah Tucker, Lily Grace Tucker, Mercy Tucker, Caroline Tucker, and Heidi Tucker; and great-grandchildren: Willa Tucker, Grayson Lancaster, Hudson Coble, and two more on the way. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Fred Tucker and Herman Tucker.
