Jessie A. Walsh, 93, of Whitman, Massachusetts died on December 18 at Brockton Hospital after a brief period of failing health.
Born in Cohasset, Massachusetts in 1927, she was the youngest of six children born to Nicholas and Felicia Sinopoli.
She graduated from Cohasset High School in 1945, and in the 1960's began a career as a baker/cook in Whitman Public Schools, and later at Plymouth County Hospital in Hanson.
Jessie was loved by all who knew her for her vivacious personality and sense of humor. Her greatest joys in life were her home gardening, feeding and watching her birds and hummingbirds, caring for her beloved Boston Terrier family pets (King, Queenie, Spike and Desty), but mostly, her devotion as a wife, mother, nana, and great grandmother.
She was the wife of the late Carl F. Walsh of Holbrook (deceased in 1992), and after their marriage in 1953, they settled in Whitman in a duplex home shared with her sister Betty Hover and husband Bob, where she resided until her passing.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Vincent "Buddy" Sinopoli, Rose "Rosie" Umbrianna, Mary Sinopoli, Nicholas "Nicky" Sinopoli, and Elizabeth "Betty" Hover.
She is survived by her three children, Richard J. Walsh; Sheila M. (McMahon) and Paul; and Mary E. (Pavilonis) and Kevin.
She is also survived by grandsons and granddaughters, Michael J. McMahon and Yurie; Sarah M. (McMahon) Gurry and Jon; Adrianna M. (Rauch) Tautkas and Jason; MaryBeth P. McMahon and Kyla; and Matthew C. Pavilonis. She leaves great granddaughters and great grandson; Eleanor "Ella" Gurry; Owen Tautkus; and twins, Mackenzie and Liliana Tautkus. And also, many beloved nieces and nephews, including the Cragers, Hovers, Sinopolis and Umbriannas.
Due to current restrictions, there will be no service presently, but there are plans for an observance for Jessie in the coming Spring of 2021.
