Thomas J. Gleghorn, Jr., 76, of Dartmouth, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital, following a brief battle with cancer. He was the husband of Mary (Kaharl) Gleghorn, they were married for 44 years.
Born in Taunton, he was son of the late Thomas J. Gleghorn, Sr. and the late Florence (White) Gleghorn. He served his country in the United States Army Reserve during the Vietnam War, until March of 1972. Prior to retirement in 2005, he was a foreman underground cable splicer for NStar. A Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport, he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a church volunteer , and was the 1997 recipient of the Marian Medal. He lived Cursillo in the Fall of 1986 which was very influential in his faith formation. Mr. Gleghorn served as president of the St. Vincent De Paul Society. He was a loyal New England Patriots fan who loved watching the games with his grandchildren and son-in-law, he would never miss a game. He was also an avid reader.
Including his wife, survivors include: a son: Dr. Jason P. Gleghorn and his wife Dr. Kim Bothi of PA; a daughter: Anissa M. Faria and her husband Victor of Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren: Sofia, Nicolas, Isabela and Olivia; and an aunt: Natalie Ferreira of New Bedford.
He was brother of the late Michael Gleghorn.
