Obituary

James W. Krieger, 95, of Manchester, NH died March 13, 2006 at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton after a brief illness.

Born September 9, 1910, he was the son of Thomas and Georgianna (April) Krieger. During WWII, he served in the US Army and was awarded the Victory Medal. During the war, he saw action in Rome Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Standard Linen, Moreau’s Hardware, and most recently LeBlanc’s Hardware.

He was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral and helped with weekly collections prior to his move to Tilton. He was an avid cribbage player who will be greatly missed by his friends at the Veterans Home.

His wife, Ann (Graney) Krieger, predeceased him in September of 1991.

Members of his family include two cousins, Maurice April of Manchester and Therese Brodeur of Nashua; a Godchild, Donna Gott of Laconia.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in the Chapel of St. Joseph Cathedral on Thursday, March 16, 2006 Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the NH Veterans Home, 139 Winter St, Tilton, NH 03276.
