Angelo Federico of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End, passed away on Monday, December 21st. He was 90. Born and raised in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Carmela Federico. Angelo was a proud member of Local 22 and the Associazione Gizio Club of the North End.
Angelo had a passion for gardening. With a green thumb, his garden was meticulously taken care of and he always made sure to plant enough tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and celery to share with his friends and neighbors. When Angelo was not gardening, he enjoyed making homemade sauce and planning the next spaghetti dinner with his grandchildren.
Angelo’s biggest passion was being a Nonno. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and living right next door to them made it that much easier to spoil them. Angelo shared a special bond with his grandson Angelo; everyday Angelo would help him get into the van to start his school day and help him out once he arrived home.
Angelo was the beloved husband of the late Pierina Federico. He was the devoted father of Carmine Federico of Bristol, RI, and Guy Federico of Medford. He was the loving Nonno of Giancarlo, April, Angelo, Josephine and Gianni.
Angelo’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, December 31st at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 10 AM with social distancing protocols. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
