Kathleen Texeira Wise, 58, of Providence, RI passed away peacefully at home on Saturday December 19, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Kenneth Wise.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel “Zapata” Texeira and Catherine (Gomes) Texeira, she lived in Providence for many years.
Kathy was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in Providence for over 25 years. It was a vocation that she truly enjoyed as she loved helping others. She had received numerous awards for the special caring that she showed to her patients.
She is survived by her husband Kenny; her siblings, Renee Pires and husband Domingo, and Manuel “Butchie” Texeira, all of New Bedford, William “Ray” Texeira and his fiancée Melody Dawson of Vero Beach, FL, Julia Ferguson and her husband Thomas of Fairhaven, and Cheryl “Sheri” Texeira-Jones and her husband Kent of Cheltenham, PA; her mother-in-law, Dalphine Wise-Cooper of Providence; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews, whom “Auntie Kathy” treated as her own children; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. The late Emma “Mother” Walker was a truly beloved Grandmother to Kathy.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2020 at 1 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 AM – 1 PM prior to the service. Private family burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
